Katrina weaker than thought

Hmm. If it was a cat3 and the levees and floodwalls were supposed to hold during a cat3 then why oh well there I go being a negative nellie again.

This report is pointless from the media. It's like the autopsy has been done, why do we headline with this? It should have been on A-22 or somewhere further down the line so as not to do further damage. Don't you agree?

Screwed that first one up. Let's try again:

Yes and no. I see what you're saying -- I mean, the damage is done, and what's the point of downgrading the hit? -- but I do think it's prudent to point it out, if only for ammunition against the argument that the levees were built to withstand a cat3, not a cat4. Which, obvioulsy, they didn't. They were poorly constructed period -- not a matter of degree -- and I think that this reinforces the urgent necessity of rebuilding the levees properly and also for better hurricane planning and hazard mitigation.
