None dare call it idiocy

Via Galliard at The News Blog: "When asked who was to blame for the subsequent Iraqi rebellion, in which thousands of Iraqis and Americans have died, Bremer said 'we really didn't see the insurgency coming,' the network said in a news release."

Hmm. We killed a coupla hundred thousand in Gulf War One. We fomented (but ultimately failed to support) a Shiite revolution in the south. We created a de facto Kurdish autonimous region in the north. We were the architect of harsh, economy crippling UN sanctions that sent the quality of life for the average Iraqi plummeting. We led a military expedition in their country, killing many of their wives and children, to overturn their system of goverence and replace it with one where they would be in the minority and give power to those who they had so cruelly lorded over. We are the Great Satan, ferchrissakes!

No. No insurgency to follow. No way. Think flowers and candy.
