A model of surgical precision

No, not Frist and the gorilla. Come see Boyd Blundell slice Ezra Klein in to little ribbons over a good example of left-wing uninformed Katrina nonsense and not even perspire. EDIT: Klein's column is interesting, too, not only for its remarkably ignorant, unenlightened and condescending content, but for the more measured discussion going on in the comments.

I tried adding a comment, but wasn't happy with the way I was able to write--that happens--so I didn't post. Over at Library Chronicles, I mentioned that I'm a little worried about the possibility that NOLA, and the Gulf Coast, might be getting written off. Damn. Besides the philosophical merits of Gulf Coast reconstruction--we ARE part of the country--I don't know if people get the very tangible, real benefits the region provides. In particular, a commentor named Ellen (at the TPM site) seems to think the Gulf Coast is some sort of burdensome charity case.

I'm amazed at how willing so many folks are to simply write off the whole region.
